8 Best Swimsuits for a Heavy Middle

Shopping for swimsuits can feel really hard, especially when your belly area is bigger than the rest of your body. I understand this because I have been there too. I used to feel sad and unsure whenever I had to pick a swimsuit.

You may see some products here which has either been used by us or independently selected by (obsessive) editors. As an Amazon associate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

I would look in the mirror and feel like nothing looked good on me. Most swimsuits looked like they were made for only one kind of body, and mine was not.

But over time, I learned something important. You do not need a flat tummy to wear a swimsuit. What you need is the right style that fits you well and makes you feel good.

There are swimsuits that can make your middle feel more supported, help you feel more confident, and still let you enjoy the beach or pool without worry.

5. Adisputent Womens Tankini Swimsuits Ruffled Tank Top Tummy Control

If you are looking for something affordable that flatters a heavy middle without drawing too much attention to it, the Adisputent Women’s Tankini is the one to try.

One thing that stands out with the Adisputent Tankini is how it gives you options. You can keep the full flounce for more coverage or tuck the lower layer if you want to show more skin. Either way, you are in control of your comfort and style. The material is soft, light, and not see through because the swim top is 82% polyester and 18% spandex, while the bikini bottoms are 85% polyester and 15% spandex. This blend makes the swimsuit both comfortable and long lasting.

Also, the Adisputent ruffled tank top has two soft layers that gently cover your midsection. It does not cling or press too tight. The Adisputent high waist bottom has a ruched front that gives your belly a smooth look. Together, they give full coverage while showing off your natural shape. The top also has adjustable straps and a padded bra that offers extra support.

6. Tempt Me High-Waisted Bikini Bottoms

Most bikini bottoms either dig in, slide down, or show way more than you’d like. But these Tempt Me high-waisted ruched bikini bottoms are honestly a breath of fresh air.

They’re made from soft, stretchy fabric (85% nylon, 15% spandex), so they feel good on your skin and offer a gentle, supportive fit around your waist.

What makes them really stand out is the ruched detailing at the front and sides. It’s not just for looks; it helps to smooth out your midsection and gives your waist a more flattering shape.

There is no way you will not feel more confident without feeling overly exposed.

These bottoms also give you full coverage, which is perfect if you like to feel secure and not worry about constant adjusting.

They go well with tankini tops, bikini tops, or even a swim shirt, so you can mix and match your look.

7. Eomenie Wrap Tie Back One Piece Swimsuit

Eomenie Women’s One Piece Swimsuit combines the best of style and function to create a look that flatters your body in all the right places.

The wrap design is one of its standout features. This style creates diagonal lines across your torso, giving you a slimming effect and helping to elongate your figure. It’s a great choice if you’re looking to draw attention away from your midsection while highlighting your natural waist.

Also, the V-neckline on this swimsuit draws the eye upward, further adding to the slimming effect and giving you a flattering, feminine shape.

You can find Eomenie Women’s One Piece Swimsuit in solid colors or with colour-blocking details to enhance the overall slimming effect.

Not only does the criss-cross cutout design at the front and back add a touch of flirtiness, but the back tie knot and adjustable shoulder straps ensure a perfect fit, contouring your body beautifully. It’s both stylish and functional, with plenty of support to keep you comfortable.

For added tummy control, the ruched waist design helps smooth and shape your midsection without compromising on style. The high-cut legs make your legs look longer and emphasize your natural curves.

The SEAFORM Women’s Tankini Bathing Suit is great for people who want more covering and comfort without giving up style. This tankini swim dress is made of two pieces. 3. I’ve had a mastectomy and am overweight. Am very sensitive about wearing a swimsuit as feel very self conscious. Read your article hoping to find some ideas and inspiration. Hugely disappointed to see ladies who are NOT overweight and so I can’t relate to them at all!
Please use models (plenty of plus-sized around these days!) who are representative of the group you are aiming to advise – not skinny minnies who clearly don’t have body issues!

  4. I agree with the previous replies. The bathing suits are all beautiful, but the models are not plus size. Please get real.
In the meantime, I’m swimming and hanging by the pool in boy shorts and t shirts, easier to hit the ladies ‘ room and keeps the strong sun off my back and chest. Works for me.
